Prior to joining KUSK, Don spent 12 years (2008-2020) as the Chief Legal Officer and Business Affairs of The Pokémon Company International where (among many other things) he coordinated the worldwide launch of Pokémon GO and produced the #1 worldwide feature film, Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. After leaving Pokémon (2020-2023), Don spent 4 years as the General Counsel of Bungie and coordinated their $3.6 billion acquisition by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Before Pokémon (2004-2008), Don spent several years at Xbox as the head lawyer for Microsoft Game Studios, where among many other things he helped transform Bungie into an independent company, spearheaded Microsoft’s other studio M&A work, and started his time at Microsoft in their Cybersecurity Law department.

Don is licensed to practice law in Washington State, New York, and the Canadian province of Quebec. His law degrees, as well as his undergraduate and graduate degrees, came from McGill University in Montreal, Canada (1997), which results in his having many proper opinions about where to find the good bagels. Along with his work at KUSK, Don teaches Entertainment Law at the University of Washington in Seattle.
